The Queen City Cup will take place on August 2nd & 3rd, 2025 at the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex at Matthews.

We aim to have divisions that fit all skill levels of adult soccer.  We offer (in alphabetical order): Coed (Competitive & Intermediate), Heart of Goals (Charity Division), Open Competitive, Open Over 30, Men's Over 40 & Women's.  We are always open to new divisions at the suggestions of teams wanting to enter and try to create more each year.  Our goal is for each division to carry anywhere from 4 to 12 teams.

There are two fees for the Queen City Cup, one required and one potential one.  One is the team fee and is paid when registering to secure your place (divisions have limited space).  The second is the player pass for players who need one (Player Pass through NCASA local leagues or other accepted player pass for USASA event).

The team fee for the Queen City Cup is $900.

The player pass (if needed) is identified when players are rostering to your team.  If the need one, they will have the choice of selecting a 2025 NCASA full year pass ($30 - good for 2025 across all sanctioned leagues/tournaments under USASA - Beer City Cup, Carolinas Cup, local leagues) or a 2025 QCC Tournament pass ($15) that will cover you only for the tournament itself.  If you are considering joining a local league OR want to participate in another tournament before the end of the year, we encourage players to purchase the 2025 NCASA Player Pass.

Yes!  All divisions carry with them a prize money purse.  The amount of the prize money is different for each division, but will be the largest minimum prize EVER for the Queen City Cup at $1,400 with the Coed & Open Competitive both having a $2,000 prize.

The Heart of Goals (Charity Division) prize money will be donated to the charity of the choice of the winning team.

As this is an adult soccer tournament, we restrict all participants to a minimum of 18 years of age one week prior to the competition.  Rosters need to be finalized prior to the tournament, and this gives a team enough time to get someone registered and properly rostered prior to the tournament.  For divisions that state "Over [Insert Number]", those divisions follow the same restriction, only matching whatever age minimum that division carries.  The players MUST be the minimum age for the tournament and division prior to the tournament taking place.

Absolutely!  The Queen City Cup is hosted by the Metrolina Adult Soccer League, which is a member of the North Carolina Adult Soccer Association, USASA & US Soccer.  This means that all players are required to either have a proper player pass with a league under USASA, purchase one upon registration or purchase a Tournament Only Pass.  If you have questions as to whether a pass you may have will be covered under the tournament, feel free to email the Queen City Cup at queencitycup@gmail.com or NCASA at ncasa2@ncsoccer.org.

Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches.  Based on the division sizes, the number of games will vary beyond that to determine a champion on the weekend.

The halves for the tournament are 35 minutes long.
